What would you say to the children of New York City?
September 26, 2001

Students in the third through sixth grade at Redeemer Lutheran School tell what they would say to the children of New York following the terrorist attack there:

Nick L. - "Don't be afraid. God is with you. God will protect you. Trust God with all your heart."

Jaimie W. - "I felt sad. I hope you are ok."

Matt S. - "I would tell them the verse from the Bible, 'Call on me on the day of trouble and I will answer you.'"

Justin P. - "I hope you're ok and alive. I'm worried about what happened. I was sad that tons of people died."

Tommy D. - "Don't worry because the Air Force and God will take care of it. God Bless America."

Jason P. - "You must be afraid. You are probably sad that either one of your parents are dead and in heaven with God."

Margo L. - "Don't worry because God is with you. I hope no more planes crash near your houses. A verse for you: 'May He send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.'"

Kacie S. - "I would cheer them up by saying a funny song or a funny joke. I could play a game or eat a snack with them."

Eli T. - "Hi. Don't be worried. We'll blow up the terrorist. They'll stop."

Addy W. - "Do not be afraid. The Lord is always with you. He will watch over you and keep you safe."

Andrew P. - "I would tell them it was a terrible thing and ask if one of his family got hurt or died. I would let him in our house, where it was safe."

Brianna N. - "How do you feel? Are you sad? Were you afraid?"

Jonah R. - "I hope none of your relatives were injured. Remember God is always with you. Also: 'Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.'"

Christy P. - "Why do you think this happened? Do you know anybody in those buildings? God will always love you!"

Jordan S. - "Don't worry because God will be watching over you. I hope New York City and you will recover. God Bless the U.S."

Justin S. - "Why do you think this tragedy happened? Why did bin Laden do this? Why us?"

Elizabeth M. - "We have a strong country and we will never give up. But no matter what, God will always be with you."

Raena T. - "God is watching over you. He cares about our nation and I am positive we will get through this with our heads high."

Chad S. - "God will watch over and protect everyone so don't worry. We're praying for you. Go to church and be proud to be an American! God Bless the U.S."

Daniel S. - "I would say Bible verse Philip.: 4:13: 'I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.' I also would say I'm sorry for what happened, but Jesus will never forsake or leave you."

Nicole Z.y - "Don't worry because God is with you. He will watch over you."

Brittany T. - "God is helping your city and helping our country. Everyone is helping New York by donating blood, food, water and money. Also, I would let all the kids stay at my house so they are safe."

Mollie S. - "God is always with you. Take good care of your brother or sister if you are the oldest. Always be kind to each other. Be thankful you are alive and try to be happy. Don't worry, you are safe and sound. Be careful always."

Kacie G. - "God is with you and keeping you safe. God didn't want those things to happen. Keep praying for people that are hurt."

Corey L. - "We could collect money or help with supplies. You shouldn't be scared because God is with you. And everyone is giving blood."

Stuart K. - "God is watching over the people of New York. God bless the U.S.A."

Cleo H. - "This must be really scary for you, but you can't live your life in fear. God is watching over you. Jesus will never leave you nor forsake you. Pray for peace and protection. We are also praying for you. God bless and keep you."

Courtney Z. - "I'm sorry that one of your family members might have died. A verse to remember: 'I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end,' Rev. 22:13."
