PRESCHOOL 3’S
Through the use of all our senses we discover God’s world about us. We participate in simple cooking experiences, noticing the changes that occur when heating or baking. We talk about the seasons and the changes that occur, and how animals are effected. We learn about zoo animals, farm animals, water animals, and we learn about caring for pets. We talk about new growth and plant seeds and watch them grow.

ENRICHMENT

Children will understand that this world is awesome and was created by God. The children’s natural curiosity will be enhanced. Through making predictions, participating in  multi-sensory exploration and hands-on experimentation.  Many different units of study will be explored as they relate to weekly themes.

KINDERGARTEN & FIRST
Kindergartners and First graders will learn through experiments, demonstrations, and activities the amazing complexity and order of God’s world. Students will practice being good caretakers/stewards of the world God has created. They will learn how God designed the relationships between humans, plants, animals, and nonliving things. Students will be introduced to life, earth, and physical sciences in eight units.

SECOND & THIRD

Second and Third graders Science explores the needs of living things and how living things differ from non-living things. We explore how God wants us to be good stewards of our bodies by practicing good health habits. We study endangered animals and discuss how all of us can work together to take care of God’s creatures. We will learn how the weather effects us; as well as the process of various weather patterns. We will explore ways to measure the three states of matter.

FOURTH & FIFTH

The Fourth and Fifth grade science curriculum helps students understand the connection between the concepts of science and the Word of God. Students will explore concrete examples of science concepts. They will examine the different stages in the life cycles of plant and animals. They will examine the physical features and movements of the sun, moon, and earth. Energy and its different forms will be observed and studied. Students will discover the properties of water and learn how water cycles through the earth’s ecosystems. They will also examine how living things interact with their environment and each other.

SIXTH
Through experimentation, discussion, and research our students will learn how different areas of God’s creation work independently and cooperatively in His ordered world. Specific areas of instruction will include plants—their parts and processes, space—its components and size, the interrelationship of energy, work, and machines, populations and ecosystems—our world in balance and order, the earth—its minerals, rocks, and structure, and light and sound—their properties and uses. An emphasis will be placed on teaching the students how to use the scientific method and higher order thinking to make discoveries on their own.
