WRITING
ENRICHMENT
Children will be encouraged to write words to complete simple sentences, make simple repetitive books, and title artwork. Dictated stories and class books will also be part of the writing program.
KINDERGARTEN
Children will be introduced to a systematic writing process using the
“Magic Line” writing method.
Children will write at least twice a month early in the year, and daily
in journals later in the school year.
“Magic Line” writing will be phased out as children develop more writing
and phonemic skills. Other writing
opportunities include completing sentences, making class books, dictating
stories or sentences, and writing group stories.
