Pastor Brian Westgate has served as pastor of The English Evangelical Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer of Oakmont and Verona since The Tenth Sunday after Trinity, July 31, 2016. A product of Wisconsin Synod schools and a graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Pastor Westgate was ordained on Exaudi Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Zion Detroit, and first served for five years as pastor of Faith Lutheran Church near Butler, PA.
Pastor Westgate and his wife Bethanie have three young children. He is a student of The Church's historic liturgy and hymnody and is a trained Lutheran organist. He serves on two committees of the English District of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod: the Disaster Relief & Human Care committee (which he chairs) and the Worship Committee. He also serves as Secretary of both the Pittsburgh Pastoral Conference and Pittsburgh Area Lutheran Ministries.
